Oh my, where to begin? This week has been a whirlwind. The turkey was amazing and I was able to get back to the gym again. My brief pregnancy back in September and October really threw me for a loop. And to my surprise, I have gained about a pound of weight per week since my miscarriage. Didn’t expect that to happen! I am not an emotional eater, so I searched good ol’ Google and found that this appears to be a very common problem, Who knew? Regardless, I love being on member of the YMCA and I am glad to be doing something for myself again! With the holiday, family time and finding some Me time (at last! 😀 ), I managed to read some pretty great blogs too! 🙂
“As a woman I am right to have felt afraid for most of my life”
This is exactly how I feel and had not recognized it until I read this post. Trump’s election is confirmation that women are a target for violence, sexual violence, and treatment as second class. I thought my mother’s generation and the 2nd wave feminists movement had changed some of this, but it has only taken a different form. The last time I felt this way was in college surrounded by frat culture. For me, this one simple sentence gave me a profound understanding of my own feelings. Thank you bratexperiment!
The second post I want to share is for all those working moms trying to balance career, family, deadlines, appointments and the reality that your children (especially toddlers) have their own pace! 🙂 This honest, real life story about slowing down is a wonderful reminder . I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend!
Love, Mrs. Mother Dirt
